Las Fuentes beach is the closest to the Sancho III Hotel, just 600m away.
Las Fuentes beach in Alcossebre gets its name from the freshwater springs that emerge from the sand and flow into the sea. It’s located to the north of Alcoceber, adjacent to the beautiful Alcoceber marina.
Las Fuentes beach is one of three points on the coast where the Maestrazgo aquifer emerges, originating in the Morella peaks and also discharging at Torrebadum beach and Peñiscola castle. The springs make this beach the best for kids to build sandcastles and have fun in the rivers. Plus, it’s one of the last beaches in the area that has a beach bar right on the sand.
The beach stretches about 400 meters in length and has an average width of 40 meters, experiencing high occupancy during the summer months. Nearby, there are numerous hotels, apartment blocks, and restaurants offering a wide range of local cuisine, as well as a lively and attractive atmosphere with many outdoor activities.
In addition to designated play areas for children and sports facilities, the beach serves as a venue for the nighttime beach volleyball championship and the 3x3 basketball tournament, which are held during the summer.
This fine sandy beach is equipped with a lifeguard tower and a first aid station, toilets, showers, and walkways, as well as trash bins and selective waste collection containers. Cleaning services are provided. There are rental stalls for skates, shades, and hammocks, trampolines, and two play areas for children. The Fuentes or springs that emerge on the beach itself are of great ecological value.
